Kathmandu, 20 September: The CPN-UML has proposed to retain the age limit of 70 years for participation in the party’s 10th general convention and that all office bearers would be elected. In the party's standing committee (SC) meeting  that started on Sunday, discussed the statute amendment proposal and political and organisational reports to be tabled in the upcoming statute general convention. The statute mainly includes age limit of the party chief, electoral system in the party committee, provisions of party structures in line with the federalism and others. The age limit of 70 years was introduced from the 9th general convention. However, a SC meeting of party Chairman Khadga Oli’s faction had earlier decided to do away with the provision of age limit. Based on the feedback from the SC, the report would be submitted to the party central committee meeting to be held on September 24 and 25. People's News Monitoring Service
