There is a competition among the political parties for adjusting the word “socialism” in between the name of their political parties. Janata Samajbadi Party, Loktantrik Samajbadi Party, Unified Socialist Party are examples. The constitution also has emphasized the word “socialism” enormously.
Unfortunately, in practice, all the political parties are under the grip of middlemen and brokers. As the entire system is captured by those brokers, the general public has been exploited from the system and policy. For example, the sugarcane farmers are unable to get payment of the sugarcane supply to the sugar factory for years. They have knocked on the door of the ministers and their leaders but they are helpless. Now, they stopped the plantation of sugarcane. Now, sugar price in the market has skyrocketed. Perhaps, this is the proper definition of “socialism”!
What happened to Nepal’s diplomatic note?
We read the news that the government had sent two diplomatic notes to the Indian government protesting the killing of Jaysingh Dhami and flying Indian helicopters in the Nepali sky.
What happened to these notes? Did India receive them? Is India going to send a reply soon?
MCC grant
It has already been four years since the MCC grant project was inked. The American project was for five years and, perhaps, by next year, the project had to be completed.
Two senior officials from MCC arrived in Kathmandu, lobbied for rectifying it from Parliament and returned with the message that they were expecting an early rectification of the project from the House.
Nepal is undecided on the project. Intellectuals and academicians are strongly against the grant project. Among the political leaders, except PM Sher Bahadur Deuba, others want amendments on the MCC grant project’s terms and conditions.
America is the country that had join hands with India for a regime change in Nepal. Americans might have felt that presently, it is their government. Unfortunately, Americans have been humiliated by their own men!
