Kathmandu, 12 September: If everything goes well with the ruling coalition partners, especially the CPN (US) led by Madhav Kumar Nepal, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba will expand the Cabinet by Monday evening, according to one of the close aides of Deuba. "The parties have almost forged an agreement on it," he shared.
During a meeting of the ruling coalition this morning, Deuba demanded the names of party leaders to be inducted in the Cabinet. In response, the top leaders asked him to give one more day as they were 'waiting for Supreme Court (SC)verdict' expected.
Cabinet expansion has been delayed largely due to the CPN (US) and Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal (JSPN). The CPN (US), led by Nepal, was formed after the split from the UML, and it has asked Deuba to wait until Monday. The UML has filed a case against the Election Commission and Speaker of the House of Representatives and the Supreme Court has called both the petitioner and the defendants for discussions on the same day.
