By Our Reporter  A week after police arrested two individuals with 4 kg gold biscuits and 2.5 tola gold jewellery from the Nepalgunj Airport on Friday, the police again arrested two individuals with 4.035 kilograms of hashish from the TIA on Monday. They were preparing to fly to Doha. Those who were arrested in Nepalgunj had reached there via Shree Airlines from the TIA, which means they had used the international airport to smuggle the gold. Those arrested in Nepalgunj were identified the duo as Buddhiman Khati of Morang and Amir Lagun Bishwakarma of Jhapa. They had hidden the gold inside the sole of the shoes. Police informed Bishwakarma had hidden two biscuits each in both shoes while Khati had one biscuit each in his shoes. A gold necklace, a bangle and five lockets were found in Khati’s luggage. The arrested duo has also been handed over to the Department of Revenue Investigation, Kohalpur along with the gold. The two who were held on Monday with hashish were identified as Sayam Prasad Roka and Bir Bahadur Roka. Obviously, in recent days, police have arrested more Nepali and foreign nationals with gold, hashish and animal parts in Kathmandu. These growing cases of arrest hint that the TIA has turned into a haven for smugglers from around the world.
