By Our Reporter Kathmandu, the Capital City of the country, received a record downpour Sunday night, affecting the lives of those living near the rivers. Continuous and heavy rainfall inundated over 300 houses and damaged some infrastructures built on the banks of the Bagmati, Bishnumati, Hanumante and Manohara rivers. Meteorological Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) has recorded 121.5 mm of rain at the Tribhuvan Airport Centre from 1 am to 8:45 am on Monday. Meteorologists call it 'very heavy' and record-breaking rain after 2008. The previous record was 84.3 mm on September 12, 2008. Many houses of the river bank submerged while pig farms of the Manahara area were swept away by floods.
