Kathmandu,6 September: The 74th Regional Committee Session of the World Health Organisation (WHO) South-East Asia is taking place virtually from September 6-10 in Kathmandu. Nepal is hosting it after a hiatus of 11 years. Six decades have passed since Nepal joined the world health body. Issues on the table at the meeting include ways and means for preparedness and strengthening response to the public health emergency, speedy efforts to prevent and control non-communicable diseases. Monitoring the progress of universal access to health and revival of the school health programme measures to ‘build back better’ essential health services will deliberate upon until next week, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.
