Kathmandu, 26 August: A total of 2,482 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in the country on Wednesday. The new cases were confirmed from 9,711 PCR tests and 5,579 antigen tests conducted in various laboratories across the country. With the latest addition, the COVID-19 caseload has reached 752,863, according to the Ministry of Health and Population. Similarly, 1,781 people enjoyed recovery from the flu-like infection in a day taking the COVID-19 recovery caseload to 703,964 as of now, the Ministry said in its routine press briefing. Likewise, 44 people succumbed to the deadly infection. With this, the number of people dying of coronavirus infection has jumped to 10,612. Currently, there are a total of 38,287 active cases across the country. Meanwhile, the number of fully vaccinated persons stands at 3,909,941. In Kathmandu Valley, Kathmandu district alone has 6,792 active cases while there are 1,478 in Bhaktapur and 2,216 in Lalitpur, the Ministry stated. People's News Monitoring Service
