Kathmandu, 17 August: Challenging the government's decision to appoint Kulman Ghising to the post of Executive Director (ED) of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), Hitendra Dev Shakya on Monday filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court (SC). On behalf of Shakya, Prem Kumar Kafle lodged the writ petition naming the Office of the Prime Minister and Ministry of Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation as defendants.
He has also argued, in the petition, that he was appointed in the NEA for a four-year term, thus the government cannot remove him and cannot appoint him to other positions by creating post. The hearing on the writ petition shall begin on Wednesday.
