Kathmandu, 14 August: Prime Minister and president of the Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba wants to postpone the 14th national convention dates till November or December this year. It is almost impossible to conduct the national convention on the earlier set dates, although, Deuba’s rival group has insisted to conduct the national convention on the scheduled date under emergency circumstances. The ongoing central committee meeting is debating on whether to postpone or not the national convention. The rival group in the party has strongly condemned Deuba’s plan to postpone the national convention dates as they are predicting that the party may lose its legitimacy if postponed the convention date once again. The Deuba group is predicting for considering the Covid-19 period as a zero period so that the national convention dates can be postponed under unavoidable circumstances.
