
Kathmandu, 13 August: The meeting of Nepali Congress (NC) central working committee (CWC) on Thursday discussed the issues relating to the party’s active membership as well as the fixing new date for the party’s 14th national convention.
The party had decided to hold its much-awaited national convention from September 1-4 this year. In the meeting, a report along with its interpretation was presented by Ramesh Lekhak.
As per the report prepared by the Committee, there are 852,711 active members in NC. The meeting also concluded that the Supreme Court verdict on restoration of the House of Representatives brought the constitution back on track. The verdict came as per common will of political parties, media, civil society and aware citizen and spirit of the constitution. The meeting also suggested the government to move ahead as per people's will and consensus among the ruling parties.
