
Kathmandu, 9 August: Chief Justice(CJ) Cholendra Shumsher JBR has responded that the constitutional appointments made by the Khadga Oli government through ordinance were in line with laws.
In a written response submitted by CJ Rana to the Supreme Court through Office of the Attorney General has stated that the appointments to the constitutional bodies through ordinance were made in line with the Constitutional Council (Work, Responsibility and Procedure) Related Act 2066 BS. The written response states that the appointments were made following the jurisdiction of the Constitutional Council. Speaker at the House of Representatives (HoR) Agni Sapkota had filed a writ petition seeking an order to declare such appointments made on December 15 last year and afterwards invalid.
