Rashtriya Prajatantra Party has demanded that the Kathmandu Metropolitan City should correct its decision to change the name of Rantna Park.
The KMC had recently decided to change Ratna Park’s name as Shankhadar Shankwa. Located in the heart of the capital city, Ratna Park is a popular place and name. But the KMC decided to change its name with an ill intention of deleting the name of Ratna Park as it is named after queen mother Ratna Rajya Laxmi Devi Shah.
Interestingly, there has been no evidence to prove the act of Shankwa and even his existence. Again, there have already been places named after Shandhar Sankwa.
Stating that the decision to change the name was wrong, a delegation led by RPP Kathmandu District chair Nabaraj Simkhada submitted a memorandum to the KMC on Tuesday demanding correction of its decision.
Simkhada said the party demanded an immediate correction of the decision to name Ratna Park as Shankhadhar Sankhwa.
The party asked the KMC to build another grand park in the name of Shankhadhar Sankhwa.
