Kathmandu, 14 November: The open area feeding programme being organized by volunteers for the poor and needy will stop from November 17.

Considering health hazards, possibility of infection and the need to protect human rights, the initiative will however continue within a closed structure. A decision to this end was taken following a discussion held between the Kathmandu metropolitan city and the volunteers organizing the free meal programme, according to Hamro Team Nepal.

Accordingly, accommodation and food has been arranged for the poor and helpless, and physically challenged at the Manav Sewa Ashram, run by the KMC. For this the concerned ward or the Ashram can be contacted.

Meanwhile, the KMC has issued a notice requested all the social organisations involved in feeding the poor to do so within closed structures. For this, the KMC and the concerned Ward will provide all necessary support.
