Kathmandu, 25 October: Former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, who is also the Spokesperson of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP), has objected to Prime Minister Khadga Oli’s  recent meeting  with  India’s external intelligence agency-Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW).

Taking to Face book, incumbent lawmaker Shrestha has written: Nepal’s foreign policy, sovereignty, and independence as guided by the constitution has been gravely violated and undermined. It’s against diplomatic norms. It’s an act of weakening nation’s self-esteem and integrity.

The counterpart of Nepal’s National Intelligence Department (NID) Samant Kumar Goel was invited to Prime Minister’s official residence on Wednesday night ignoring all diplomatic protocols. Earlier, former Minister Bhim Rawal too had opposed the meeting stating that it was against NCP’s policy and practice.
