Kathmandu, 22 October: The 17th century pond-Ranipokhari that was severely damaged in the Gorkha Earthquake in April 2015, has been rebuilt by the National Reconstruction Authority according to its original Malla –era design.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari has inaugurated the reconstructed Ranipokhari on Wednesday. using traditional technology, style and construction materials. The Balgopaleshwor Temple in the middle of the Ranipokhari has also been rebuilt in its original Gumbaz style

Also, the President inaugurated the reconstructed Durbar High School situated on opposite of Ranipokhari. The reconstruction was carried out by the Chinese assistance. It is quake-resilient and spans over nine and half ropani land.
