With the increasing cases of coronavirus and the factional disputes, the general convention of the Nepali Congress is not likely to be held in February next year.

The NC has not yet hold lower lever committees’ convention owing to the COVI-19 and without holding the convention of the lower-level committees. Moreover, the factional disputes over the distribution of active membership and appointments in departments by President Sher Bahadur Deuba have delayed in finalizing many issues related to the general convention.

Party president Deuba has been trying to postpone the convention by six months while rival faction leaders have opposed that. But now the situation is such that the convention will be held in August 2021 instead of February.
