Multinational company Gorkha Brewery is found producing beers with different international brands discarding quality and standard described by the existing laws.
The Brewery run by the Khetan Group is found producing international brands Carlsberg, Tuborg and San Miguel beers violating the quality and standard.
The Internal Revenue Department has initiated action against the Company, reports Rajdhani daily. The Department has restricted sending such beers in the market
The Department, based on quality and standard classification, has categorized such beers as local liquor.
The Brewery is found working illegally by manipulating some government officials. Concerned consumers have asked the government for a massive investigation against the Brewery. As per the recipe, there should be minimum 50 per cent use of barley while producing such beers but the Brewery is using dust of spoiled rice and exploiting the consumers.
The Brewery is also facing court cases against manipulating excise duty. The Brewery has to pay one billion 440 million rupees as an excise to the Internal Revenue Department.
Several cases have been registered at the Revenue Inquisition Authority by the Internal Revenue Department against the Brewery. Some cases are under consideration in the Court.
