The former treasurer of the Nepali Congress Rambabu Prasain passed away on Friday while undergoing treatment at the OM Hospital. He was 99.
Popular for honesty and strict disciplined, Prasain had severed from NC after the party decided to adopt republic policy.
A politician from Jhapa, Prasain had been to exile in India for many years. He lost the general elections of 1990 in Jhapa. However, in recent years, he had been staying in Kathmandu.
Nepali Congress expressed condolence on Prasain’s demise and put off its central committee meeting.
