Kathmandu, 14 October: Indian Army Chief General Manoj Mukunda Naravane is scheduled to visit Nepal soon.
The cabinet meeting held in January had decided to invite the Indian Army chief for a formal visit to Nepal. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic and his controversial statement on the Kalapani territory, the visit was postponed.
Again, the Nepal Army is planning to resume the postponed visit after approval from the Defence Ministry.
The visit is likely to be taken place in between the Dasain and Tihar festivals in November.
The proposed visit is considered to be an ice-break on present no-talking relations between Nepal and India after the Indian side constructed road in Nepal’s territory in Kalapani.

During the visit, the Nepal government will honour the Indian Army chief with the honorary chief title of the Nepal Army.
