Kathmandu, 13 October: As many as 2,139 new cases of the corona virus infection have been reported in Kathmandu Valley on Tuesday, as per the information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) in its daily media briefing on Saturday afternoon.
Among the 2,139 cases detected on Monday, 1,736 were detected in Kathmandu while 216 cases of transmission have been recorded in Lalitpur and 167 cases in Bhaktapur, according to the MoHP.
The three districts in the Kathmandu Valley- Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur- are among the districts with the highest number of Corona virus infection. So far, Kathmandu has recorded 16,876 cases while Lalitpur has 2,587 and Bhaktapur 1,454 has infection cases.
The new infections were confirmed through PCR tests conducted across healthcare facilities in the valley including National Public Health Laboratory, Patan Hospital, HAMS Hospital, Star Hospital, Sukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital, Nepal Korea Friendship Municipality Hospital and Birendra Military Hospital.
