Kathmandu, 12 October: As many as 1,416 new cases of the corona virus infection have been reported in Kathmandu Valley on Saturday, as per the information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) in its daily media briefing on Saturday afternoon.
Among the 1,416 cases detected on Saturday, 1,145 were detected in Kathmandu while 161 cases of transmission have been recorded in Lalitpur and 110 cases in Bhaktapur, according to the MoHP.
The three districts in the Kathmandu Valley- Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur- are among the districts with the highest number of Corona virus infection. So far, Kathmandu has recorded 15,515 cases while Lalitpur has 2,392 and Bhaktapur 1,397 has infection cases. As of Sunday afternoon, 200 fatalities relating to the deadly virus has been recorded.
The new infections were confirmed through PCR tests conducted across healthcare facilities in the valley including National Public Health Laboratory, Patan Hospital, HAMS Hospital, Star Hospital, Sukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital, Nepal Korea Friendship Municipality Hospital and Birendra Military Hospital.
