Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Chief District Officer of Humla clarified separately that the buildings said to be built by China in Nepali territory were 1 km away in China from Nepal-China border.

Meanwhile, a Nepali delegation which had a field trip to the Nepal-China border had concluded that the buildings built by China were in the Chinese territory
Nepali and Chinese delegations had made the conclusion after studying the maps of both countries. The delegation was in the site to look into the matter following press reports that about half a dozen buildings built by the northern neighbour in Lalunjong area were in Nepali land.
Chief District Officer of Humla Chiranjibi Giri said that the Nepali and Chinese officials had studied the maps of both the countries in detail. “After inspecting the area and the map, even a common person can also find it in the Chinese territory. Therefore, no one should be propagating false reports about it,” he said.
Giri said that a report regarding the issue had been sent to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Earlier, Nepali team had also found the 11 no. border pillar with the help of GPS system.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Chief District Officer of Humla Datta Raj Hamal has apologised for submitting a report with wrong information that the Chinese buildings were in Nepali land.
