Kathmandu, 21 September: Senior orthopedic surgeon Dr Govinda KC, who has been staging a fast-unto-death in Jumla for the 19th time demanding reforms in the medical sector, has refused to undergo health checkup, complaining that the government abducted him instead of fulfilling his demands.
Dr KC has been admitted to the ICU of the Karnali Academy of Health Sciences (KAHS) since late Saturday night. On the sixth day of his fast-unto-death strike, he was forcefully taken to the hospital by government authorities, according to media reports.
