Kathmandu, 19 September : On the occasion of Constitution Day, the Ministry of Home Affairs has made public a list of 594 personalities to be feted by the President.
The honours, medals and decorations to be bestowed upon to the persons of the cross-section of Nepali society for their contribution to the country is published in today’s Gorkhapatra daily.
If one goes through the list, leaving aside a few persons, majority of the people to be decorated are hardly known to the general public for their contribution to the broader benefit of the country. It seems to be a farce and mockery of democratic republic.
