Kathmandu, 1 September: A high-level committee commissioned to investigate into the anomalies of the Nepal Red Cross Society by the Kathmandu District Administration Office has concluded that six office bearers of the humanitarian organisation are found misappropriating donors’ fund violating all relevant laws and acts.

Estrwhile office bearers Sanjeev Thapa, Dev Ratna Dhakhwa,Devendra Pradhan, Hari Prasad Neupane , Ajit Kumar Sharma and Bhakata Khawas embezzled Rs1,48,44,139 as salary from the fund meant for the earth-quake response activities. Breaching the regulation of Nepal Red Cross Society, Socail Welfare Council and other existing laws they transferred the funds to their personal account as salary, reports Kantipur daily.
