Kathmandu, 18 May : As per the policy and programmes presented at the joint session of the federal parliament on Friday, the government has endorsed a new political map that includes Kalapani and Limpiyadhura. The government will soon publicize the new political map that incorporates the territory encroached by India since several decades.
A cabinet meeting this evening endorsed the proposal to publish new map incorporating the Kalapani region presented by Minister for Land Management Padma Aryal.
Nepal has consistently maintained that as per the Sugauli Treaty (1816), all the territories east of Kali (Mahakali) River, including Limpiyadhura, Kalapani and Lipu Lekh, belong to Nepal.
