By Sitaram Bhattarai Let’s start the write up with a tale. There was a jungle ruled for centuries by lion as the king. Once, the animals thought of changing the regime and elected a monkey as the king. After sometime, a lion caught a fawn and took it inside a den where he used to live. The mother doe was witness of the entire incident and went to beg help to the newly elected king. The king, monkey, followed the doe to the entrance of cave assuring her that he will do anything to protect the life of the fawn because he had promised it at the time of election. When he reached at entrance of cave, he stopped and shouted, ‘hey lion! you are no more king and you have to obey my order. Let the fawn be free, otherwise…’ King got no response from the den till evening. He became very angry with the lion but hadn’t dared to enter in den. He consoled the doe, ‘don’t worry I am with you till you didn’t get the fawn back.’ And, he climbed on a tree and started to jump from one branch to another. It continued for three days. The doe lost her patient and asked the king, ‘Maharaj when could I get my child back?’ The king replied in resentful tone, ‘haven’t you seen my effort to release your kid? I am continuously doing the things what I could.’ He added, ‘I am with you and doing it just for you.’ So, we shouldn’t be worried about the land encroachment by the expansionist neighbour, India, because our elected king is doing his best to return it back. King is Coward The hypothesis can best be further supported by following evidences: the pressure of Indian authority not to process the vegetable items through quarantine. The action taken by the health ministry was withdrawn right after the pressure mounted from neighboring authority. Presently, Nepalis are compelled to use Indian vegetables intoxicated with harmful insecticide. Very recently the prime minster visited his birth place and celebrated his birthday in a grand manner. A cake was supplied to the place on a helicopter. The prime minister who had the schooling of ultra-Marxist and had the schooling of communism participated the celebration. The irony was that the cake which was served on the occasion was designed in Nepal’s map. Unfortunately the map drawn on the cake did not include the disputed land: Lipulake and Kalapani. And most importantly, he did notice the road constructed in the disputed area only when the construction was over and was inaugurated by Indian government. Though the prime minister of Nepal had held the meeting and had telephonic conversation with his Indian counterpart, he has not been found raising the issue of border pending since long. As a king, he should be able to demark the area of his kingdom and protect the land of his own. King Needs Courage Nepal-India relations have been a lot of issues. The relations discorded time and again over infrastructure projects launched by India. If we specify the major contours of the relationship then we get treaties at first. The most significant treaty that defines the territory of Nepal is Sugauli Treaty. It was held between British’s India and Government of Nepal in 1815 AD. After India’s independence, the relations were cemented by the Indo-Nepal peace and friendship treaty of 1950. There have been frictions over the same. The both governments established the eminent person group (EPG) in 2016 because they wanted revision of treaties, and not only the Indo-Nepal Friendship Treaty but others as well. But, because of the ‘Big Brother’ mindset of Indian political establishment Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, hasn’t accepted the final report prepared by EPG. India always brings the issue of security concerns. In fact, Nepal has security threat from India because we have experienced many incidents in which the Indian security forces entered in Nepal and killed the bare handed civilian without any reason. They are taking advantage of porous border with Nepal to conduct illicit activities within the territory of Nepal. To hide and keep their activities in shadow Indian accused to Nepal for protecting anti-India activities that raise security issues for them. In 2015, just after the earthquake, India imposed blockade. We did nothing to oppose this injustice. At last, India moved back just because that has not worked in the favour of India and it seemed suicidal for them. Our leadership hadn’t enough courage to present this issue on international forum. But, just because of Indian move the then Prime Minister KP Oli got chance to present him as patriotic leader. In fact, he was not real hero but seemed as ‘hero by chance’. Oli isn’t HERO. If he was then he would respond effectively to the Indian action. He can’t do it because he is coward. Though, he thinks, he is king but he isn’t because he hasn’t courage to take action against the lion. Though the ‘king’ proved coward, the army isn’t. We have a brave army and it is ready to do anything to protect its Motherland. Our Strength, Gorkha Rifles! Though we can’t imagine a physical war and confrontation with India but we have to be ready for it if India continued its unbearable activities. And, if we can’t imagine fighting to protect our territory then it is better to dissolve our Nepal Army. Army is basically to fight against foreign encroachment and attack on our sovereignty. It is the time of attack. When Nepal has asked to go back from Kalapani and newly constructed road they have clearly replied that they are in their own land and the road has constructed in Indian land. It means, they aren’t ready to be back. They need to be chased away. And only the army can play vital role in this case. If they don’t, means they needn’t. To fight against India, Nepal Army isn’t alone. We can get help and support from a part of Indian Army called Gorkha Regiment. They are brave and experienced in cross boarder fight. They are Nepalese, so ready to die for our nation rather than the employer, India. A rough data shows more than 25000 Nepalese currently serve in the Indian Army’s Gorkha Rifles. There are roughly another 20000 Gorkhas in Indian paramilitary and police force. Except them, a huge number of Nepal originate Indian nationals also are there in Indian Army. If a real and physical confrontation occurs then what will they do? No doubt, they love Nepal and Nepalese race. They love their motherland and are ready to die for it. India has to be noticed for the fact. If the Nepalese blood tempered with the love of its motherland then the advanced technology and well equipped army can’t stop it to make harm. We, Nepalese are with a strong belief and credo 'kayar hunu bhanda marnu jati' (better to die than be a coward) will prove the strong weapon to defeat the bad neighbor.
