By Our Reporter Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Padma Kumari Aryal has claimed that she would return all the public lands, including that of Lalita Niwas, captured by land mafias soon. She said on Monday that the government would return thousands of ropanis of public lands registered in the name of private individuals. It means she would also return the land of party general secretary Bishnu Paudel! Minister Aryal made this revolutionary remark at a programme organised at the ministry to brief progress report of the ministry in the period of last two years. Minister Aryal informed that the government had returned 125.8 bighas of government and public land registered as private property so far. “The government is in the campaign of returning land registered in the name of unauthorized person. We have started to collect details of public land registered in name of unauthorized persons and reports are yet to come,” Minister Aryal said. The government has formally initiated the campaign of returning government land from Barathawa of Sarlahi district; she said, adding that the government was in the process of returning thousands of such land in future. Minister Aryal said that the government has banned transaction of 1,333,783 square meter of suspicious land registered in name of private individuals so far. As per the first report of government investigation commission, ownership of a total of 348 bighas of land comprises dual registration in which the government would take action by cancelling the registration, she said. She further said that the government had initiated the process of returning 108 bighas of Guthi land registered in name of individuals. Minister Aryal reiterated that the government would soon start the action to the person involved in irregularities of land of Lalita Niwas in Baluwatar.
