Kathmandu, 26 January: Different international organizations, expressing dissatisfaction on the transactional justice process in Nepal, have asked to reconsider on the candidate of the Speaker.
The International Commission for Jurist (ICJ), Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and Trail International have expressed dissatisfaction on appointment of office bearers in two commissions related to the transactional justice.
The government has already appointed officials in the two commissions – Truth and Reconciliation Commissions and Commission for Investigation on Forcefully Disappeared People. Also, Agni Sapkota is the only candidate to the post of Speaker.
The above organizations have asked the political parties to reconsideration on Sapkota’s candidature until finalization of independent investigation on the charge of murder case on Sapkota, reports Nagarik daily.
