Election of the National Assembly to elect 18 members is being held in all seven States today.
Of the 19 NA members, whose term is expiring in March this year,18 will be elected through the electoral colleges while one should be nominated by the President. Even the term of Finance Minister Yuba Raj Khatiwada is expiring in March.
As ruling Nepal Communist Party enjoys majority in six of the seven State Assemblies and has forged alliance with the Rastriya Janata Party Nepal, the NA election is likely to be swept by the ruling NCP and its alliance.
