At a time when the security forces have been facing a crunch of manpower in the organisations, former prime ministers, former home ministers and others retired politicians are found unnecessarily keeping a larger number of security personnel in their residences, using many of them as domestic helpers.
Powerful leaders are found misusing the security personnel breaching the existing laws and Nepal Communist Party chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal is ahead of all in abusing the security personnel.
According to law, Dahal should have been provided nine security personnel, but he is keeping 77 personnel.
Likewise, former prime minister Jhalanath Khanal has 19 security personnel in his home and Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba has been provided 38 security men.
Dr. Baburam Bhattarai is given 11 security men and former chairman of Council of Ministers Khilraj Regmi 11. Similarly, former Prime Minister Madahv Kumar Nepal is provided 17 security personnel and former PM Lokendra Bahadur Chand 12 security men.
Likewise, almost all former Home Ministers are found violating the procedures by keeping as many as 10 security men against lawful 3 security personnel.
