Kathmandu, 22 January : The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC)and the Nepal Army have collaborated in starting free hemodialysis services at the Chhauni-based Birendra Military Hospital. Sixty-four years old Chandra Devi Maharjan of KMC-15 became the first beneficiary of the service on Tuesday.KMC and Nepal Army had signed a memorandum of understanding on December 18 for operating this service. As per the agreement, KMC will provide Rs 30 million to Nepal Army for managing the hemodialysis machine, the physical facilities and human resources needed for the service.
