Kathmandu, 1 January: Nepali Congress has said it could not endorse any bills that tend to infringe on people’s freedoms. Issuing a press statement, the party has blamed that some provisions in the Bill relating to the Information Technology and formation of National Special Service had attempted to infringe on the people’s right to privacy that is guaranteed by the constitution of Nepal.
The main opposition party has also stated that it would not support any bills having provision as five years of imprisonment and fine up to Rs 1.5 million for someone mocking at others in social networking site that contradict with the spirit and values of the democratic governing system.l under any pressure and influence.
