Kathmandu, 27 December: The cabinet meeting has decided to extend the construction period of the government projects for one year in case the construction companies fail to complete the projects on time. The construction contractors were lobbying in the government for extending one year’s period to completing the incomplete government projects. As per the wish of the construction contractors, the government has amended the concerned law. To recall, most of the government projects have remained incomplete as the construction contractors have not worked in time. There is a tendency of using the advance money received by the construction contractors in other lucrative business, including purchase of land by keeping pending the concerned construction projects.
