By Our Reporter The row between the rival factions of the Nepali Congress continues despite holding rounds of talks. Although both the establishment faction led by party president Sher Bahadur Deuba and rival faction led by Ram Chandra Paudel agreed to hold the party’s 14th general convention in March 2021 by making public the schedule, they are yet to reach a conclusion in picking leadership in the ad-hoc committee of the Nepal Student Union. Due to the row, the central committee meeting of the party has been put off time and again. The Paudel team was pressing the establishment side led by party chair Sher Bahadur Deuba to hold general convention by November, 2020, but it said that it had no problem if the party establishment guaranteed holding the general convention bymid-March of 2021. Teams representing the NC president Deuba and Paudel sides have been holding series of talks to garner consensus on internal affairs of the party. Party’s former general secretary Prakash Man Singh lead the talk of Paudel and Vice-president Bimalendra Nidhi represented the Deuba faction. The talks failed to settle the disputed issues in the party. Party president Deuba team was alleged of not listening Paudel’s proposal about formation of the Nepal Student Union working committee.
