Kathmandu, 24 December: The Public Account Committee in the Federal Parliament has asked the Nepal Trust to submit documents related to the lease deal with the Yeti Group on Gokarna Forest Resort and land in King’s Way.
The meeting of the Committee on Monday has decided to ask the Trust to submit the documents within one week.
Two weeks ago, the cabinet meeting had decided to extend the lease deal of the Resort for next 25 years earlier to six years for expire of the lease deal. Accordingly, the Committee has asked the Trust to send the documents on lease deal with the Group on the land in front of the Narayanhitty Royal Palace.
Law makers have opposed the controversial deal with the Yeti Group. NC’s MP Radheshyam Adhikari objected the deal saying that the property of Nepal Trust is being exploited.
The deal was made even by amending the existing laws, MPs have remarked.
