Kathmandu, 23 December: The ruling Nepal Communist Party's Standing Committee meeting has decided to formally consult the United States whether the much-hyped Millennium Challenge Corporation Compact (MCC) is part of the US-led Indo-Pacific Strategy, which also comes with a military defense component, before taking any further decision. The week-long meeting decided to leave the matter of MCC to resolve through  the Party Secretariat. The decision to consult the US on the issue has drawn flak and it would be a diplomatic debacle, according foreign relation experts. MCC, as stated by the United States is not a military alliance. Under MCC Nepal recieves  $500 million in grants for the mega infra projects. People's News Monitoring Service
