Kathmandu, 22 December: The estimated cost to construct Kathmandu-Pokhara-Lumbini railway will be 7 billion rupees. In the pre-feasibility study report submitted by the National Railway Administration of China to the Physical Infrastructure and Transportation Ministry last month, the estimated cost has been forecasted. The report states that to construct 168 kms Kathmandu-Kurintar-Pokhara section of the railway line, it will cost 4 billion rupees. From Kurintar to Lumbini, 180 kms railway line, it will cost 3 billion rupees. Tokha will be the starting point of the proposed railway. Kurintar will be the junction station for Kathmandu-Pokhara and Kathmandu-Lumbini railway, reports Abhiyan daily. People’s News Monitoring Service
