By Our Reporter Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who had once said that ‘inauspicious’ leaders in the helms of power were responsible for the growing road and air accidents in Nepal, has instructed the concerned ministers and officials to immediately implement an effective strategy by developing a work plan to mitigate increasing road fatalities. PM Oil gave this instruction after road accidents became an every day event in recent days. Prime Minister Oli called Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Home Minister and other officials to his official residence in Baluwatar on Sunday and instructed them to implement an effective strategy by developing the work plan. At the meeting Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa, Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Basanta Kumar Nembang, Home Secretary Prem Kumar Rai, Traffic Police Office chief and SSP Bhim Dhakal, Police chief and officials from the Department of Roads were present. Prime Minister Oli nstructed to develop necessary infrastructure and implement strict traffic rules to reduce the road accidents. Prime Minister Oli said that he could not sleep well and ate properly after hearing about the baby who had lost his mother the road accident of Sinduaplachowk on Sunday. Prime Minister Oli instructed the officials to bring stern policies to regulate the traffic rules and trainings to public vehicle drivers, re-driving license test provision and road permit. He directed the officials to immediately introduce the system of 24 hours of monitoring against those who keep overload passengers in public vehicles, keeping passengers in the rooftop, and testing the ability of drivers. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Home Affairs said that the Ministry would submit a report of all road accidents happened within the current fiscal year at the earliest possible to the government. In the past one month, dozens of people were killed in road mishaps in Arghakhachi, Gulmi, Dhanding and Sindhupalchowk districts.
