Kathmandu, 21 June: The Disciplinary Committee of Nepali Congress (NC) has taken action against 183 party leaders and activists for becoming rebel candidates and proposing and seconding them against the official candidates in various elections held in 2017.
According to NC , the committee instructed 25 district committees to remove their names from the party record as a punishment. Most of those who faced the action were the rebel candidates against the official candidates in the local level elections and those who joined other parties.
Despite party’s strong instruction, 52 district committees did not forward the names of those leaders and workers who had their role in defeating the official candidates.
