Kathmandu, 20 June:Police and leaders and cadres of the banned Maoist party led by Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’ had a deadly clash in Lalbandi of Sarlahi district toay.
In exchange of fire, the district in-charge of the party was killed. According to police, the rebellious party cadres had launched an attack on the police patrolling team in Lalbandi-1, a nearby location that leads to Sindhuli district.
The rebellious cadres plying in motorcycle opened fire with a homemade pistol, and they had retaliated in defence. While one of the attackers died, three others fled the scene.
Meanwhile,five district leaders have been arrested in Kathmandu. The arrested are identified as Biplav’s Ramechhap district in-charge Kul Deep Tamang, Dolakha district in-charge Yadav Dahal, Secretary Bishal Jirel, Student Union leader Mukundra Shrestha and Udayapur district leader Bishal Tamang.
