Kathmandu, 18 June: Challenging the directive issued by the parliamentary State Affairs Committee (SAC) to annul the recruitment process of government staff initiated by the Public Service Commission (PSC), a writ petition was filed at the Supreme Court on Sunday.

Claiming that the directive issued by the parliamentary committee is nothing but a serious violation of the constitutional norms and a mockery of democracy, advocate Rajaram Ghimire filed the petition seeking the apex court’s intervention, reports Republica daily.

The petitioner also stated that parliamentary committees do not have the authority to issue directives to the constitutional bodies as per Section 242 and 243 of the Constitution.
