Kathmandu, 13 June:Amid concerns from various quarters that weak laws and poor monitoring by the authorities have made mountaineering unsafe, the Government has formed a five-member panel to identify the problems in mountaineering and recommend measures.
According to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, the panel led by the chief of Human Resource Management and Tourism Promotion Division under ministry has been tasked to study into the nine deaths on Everest this season, besides various legal, policy, structural and procedural issues concerning the mountaineering sector.
