Kathmandu, 11 June:Indian Ambassador to Nepal Manjeev Singh Puri handed over a cheque of Rs 1.6 billion to Secretary at the Ministry of Finance  Rajan Khanal amid a programme on Monday. 

 According to Indian Embassy, the amount has been released for the reimbursement of first and second installment of housing support to as many as 50,000 beneficiaries in Nuwakot and Gorkha districts. 

 The government of India had pledged to support Nepal for post-quake reconstruction following the Gorkha Earthquake on April 25, 2015. The government of India has already provided Rs 4.5 billion to Nepal so far for the same.
