Kathmandu, 2 June: A large section of people paid tribute to King Birendra and his family by expressing sentimental feelings from their personal accounts in social networks Facebook and Twitter today.
King Birendra and his entire family were killed at the Royal Palace bloodbath on 1 June, 2001, however, as per the Nepali calendar, today, 19 Jesth, is the black day in the history of Nepal in which 10 members of the Royal family including closed relatives were killed.
According to witnesses, crown prince Dipendra had opened fire, who later committed suicide.
A large number of pro-monarchist people gathered at Jawlakhel squire in Lalitpur this morning paid tribute to late King Birendra offering garlands on his statue.
