Chairman of Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) Pushpa Kamal Dahal returned to Nepal from US on March 28.
Dahal had been to US accompanying his wife Sita for her treatment there.
Sita has been unwell since she lost her son Prakash in 2017.
Reports had it that Sita felt better after receiving treatment in the US.
Talking to journalists at Tribhuvan International Airport, Dahal said his wife’s health had remarkably improved after she underwent treatment in the USA.
Dahal stayed about 10 days in the USA. Sita underwent treatment at three medical centres in America and he had returned with medicines and equipment that could alleviate her symptoms. Dahal said his wife suffered from progressive supranuclear palsy.
However, Dahal received cold response from a few Nepalis living in the US. A complaint was lodged by Tilak Shrestha against Dahal in Maryland State of USA terming him a terrorist. However, he faced no problem in US as the US government issued an order requesting not to investigate on Dahal.
However, Dahal expressed his dislikes towards the behaviours of a few Nepalis in US.
“I was not told about the conflict-era case against me but I was informed about it. I was taken to my destination from the airport and Nepali Embassy in USA played a role in taking me to my destination,” he said and added that he faced no challenge in America as the American government had already issued a ‘no investigation’ notice before his trip.
