image001Intellectuals, academicians, senior journalists both from Tibet Autonomous Region of China and Nepal gathered and discussed on Chinese President and supreme leader Xi Jinping’s thought and Nepal-China relations in Kathmandu.
At the conference organised on 31 December by Tianli Nepal and China’s Tibet Book Store, Luo Tiezhu, director, Association for Cultural Exchange with Foreign Countries, Tibet Autonomous Region, briefed on the achievements of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC). The 19th NC CPC has adopted President Xi’s thought which, among others, has defined Socialism with Chinese Characteristic and betterment of the entire mankind in the globe.
Luo also briefed on prosperous Tibet and Nepal’s prosperity through OBOR initiative.
Nepali participants expressed their views on grasping the opportunity for infrastructural development of Nepal by bringing Chinese investment.
Acting chairman of the China Study Center Sundarnath Bhattarai, retired Nepal Army General Rajendra Thapa, retired Armed Police Force AIG Dr Thakurmohan Shrestha, Nepal-China Mutual Cooperation Society chairman Premsagar Poudel, People’s Review editor Pushpa Raj Pradhan, Professor Dr Balmukunda Regmi, among others spoke on President Xi’s thought, OBOR and opportunity for Nepal’s infrastructural development.
They also urged the Nepal government to concentrate on Nepal’s exports to China along with construction of trans-Himalayan railway line.
