Chaudhary Foundation and UNDP Nepal have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with an objective of meeting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Renaud Meyer, country director of UNDP Nepal, and Nirvana Chaudhary, director of Chaudhary Foundation, signed the MoU in this regard on Saturday.
The SDGs are a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030 AD.
Under the cooperation, UNDP and Chaudhary Foundation will raise awareness in the country regarding sustainable development as well as take initiative to implement the rules and regulations regarding the matter.
UNDP hopes that the cooperation with the foundation will help in sustainable development of small-scale to middle-scale industries to reach their aim.
We are glad to have Chaudhary Foundation help us in our SDGs as sustainable growth is not only the responsibility of the UN and the government but also of the private sector as well as individuals, claimed Renaud Meyer. Private sector plays a huge role to push the SDGs into action as they have abundance of tools, sources and technology required to do so, he said.
We are glad to help UNDP in the development plan and our team is ready to help put the plan into action, said Nirvana Chaudhary, director of Chaudhary Foundation.
