At a seminar on “Bridging the Gap between Public Officials and the Public” jointly organised on 28 May by People’s Review weekly and UNJ and supported by FES, a German NGO the participants criticized political parties for politicizing the bureaucracy which has destroyed the entire civil service in Nepal.
They said that political parties were responsible in mal-governance which has affected in service delivering mechanism to the public.
Politicization of the civil service has encouraged corruption in an organizational level, said the participants.
Opening of different unions as sister organization of the political parties has destroyed the norms of the civil service, they said. They asked the political leaders to end such unions and keep the civil servicemen aloof from politics.
