By Our reporter In the first phase of local level elections, according to an estimate, one candidate spent a minimum of ten million rupees in small municipalities. In Kathmandu like cities, the candidates are said to have spent tens of millions of rupees to influence the voters. Basically, the big parties, NC, UML, MC and newly appeared Sirjansheel Nepali and Sajha party were the political parties which had spent tens of millions of rupees. Besides, they also used the social network through which a huge amount of our currency has gone to the US, said a source. Specially the candidates/parties had paid for those “sponsored” video clippings that appeared in social networks, said a source. The Election Commission has set a ceiling for the expenditure of different posts’, however, this ceiling has been violated by almost all candidates. The UML leaders have alleged that to ensure victory of PM Pushpakamal  Dahal’s daughture in Bharatpur Metropolis, billions of rupees worth budget of the Bharatpur metropolis has been misused.
